Our Philosophy

At Get Set Grow, we believe that at birth, every child is unique, competent & capable. We take a holistic approach in creating and nurturing secure, respectful & reciprocal relationships with children. These positive experiences give children a sense of belonging, the confidence to form friendships, and be intellectually curious and resilient members of society (EYLF Q1; NQF2018 QA 1.1.2).

We value and view the family as the child's first and most influential teacher. So we welcome their insight into their child's personality, culture, abilities, and interests, creating collaborative partnerships with families and educators who will provide the best support and meaningful learning experiences for their children (NQF 2018, QA 6).

We respect the diverse backgrounds, views and values of the families who use our services. They have many personal skills and interests, and we welcome their contribution to decision making within our service (NQF2018 6.1.2). We support each child to develop a strong and affirmed sense of themselves and their family, accept differences, and create an awareness of fairness and equality.

We recognise and acknowledge our indigenous culture the social and cultural diversity that exists

within the broader community (NQF 2018 6.2.3). Making connections with the local community

is important to us. We provide children with opportunities to make connections and learn about

their local community. We encourage family and community members to participate in our

program also.

We honour children's right to play (United Nations Convention on the child's rights) and see the early years as a significant period in a child's life, as it lays the foundations for all future learning. Educators take on an active role in accommodating individual learning styles and assisting each child to reach their potential. Our pedagogical approach to children's learning encompasses cognitive/academic achievements and physical, social, children's mental health (Be You; NQS 2.1) such as personal, emotional development, and spiritual wellbeing. As well as promoting independence and agency to enable children to make choices, decisions and influence events in their world (NQF 2018 5.1.2).

We create and maintain safe and healthy places and spaces that are aesthetic, stimulating, flexible and responsive to the children's interests and abilities (NQF QA3). We believe both the indoor and outdoor learning environments can act as the third teacher. Our learning environments influence children's learning and development while enhancing children's engagement and initiative.

We promote respect, care and appreciation of the natural elements in our environment NQF 3.2.3). Our practices and experiences encourage children to understand their responsibility to care for the environment and sustainable practices. The educators at Get Set Grow support an environment where they can work effectively as individuals and as a team.

At Get Set Grow, we are committed to providing high-quality early education and care. Through ongoing learning and reflective practice, our educators can provide the most outstanding support to children. So, they can strive to their full potential in their journey of life-long learning (NQF 4; NQF7).
