Safety, Wellbeing And Child Protection
At Get Set Grow ELC, children’s safety, wellbeing and privacy are at the heart of everything we do.
We understand that families place a great amount of trust in us when they leave their child in our care. We take this responsibility seriously and are committed to providing a safe, secure, respectful and nurturing environment for every child.
Our safety practices are guided by the National Quality Framework, the National Quality Standard, child safe practices and our service policies and procedures. We continually review our environments, routines, and educators' practices to ensure that children are protected, supported, and supervised throughout the day.
Active Supervision
Our educators use active supervision at all times. This means educators are thoughtfully positioned, remain alert, scan the environment, listen carefully, anticipate risks, and actively engage with children.
Active supervision helps us:
-
Support children’s safety during indoor and outdoor play
-
Respond quickly to children’s needs
-
Identify and reduce potential risks
-
Guide children’s behaviour in a positive way
-
Support safe transitions between routines
-
Maintain a calm, predictable and secure environment

CCTV, Privacy And Transparency
Our Centre uses CCTV monitoring as an additional safety and security measure within the service.
CCTV helps us maintain a safe environment by supporting supervision, security, incident review and centre management. It provides an additional layer of protection for children, families, educators and visitors.
Our CCTV system is managed carefully and respectfully. Footage is treated as private and confidential information and is only accessed by authorised management when required.
CCTV is used to:
-
Support the safety and security of children and staff
-
Assist with reviewing incidents or accidents
-
Support accurate follow-up with families where appropriate
-
Monitor entry, exit and shared learning environments
-
Strengthen our child safe practices
To protect children’s privacy:
-
CCTV footage is accessed only by authorised personnel
-
Footage is stored securely
-
Footage is not shared publicly
-
Footage is not posted on social media
-
Cameras are positioned with privacy in mind
-
Any request to view footage is considered carefully in line with privacy, child safety and legal obligations
Because CCTV footage may include other children, educators or families, we are unable to provide open access to footage. Where a family has a concern, management will review the matter and communicate appropriately while protecting the privacy of everyone involved.
Our goal is to be transparent with families while ensuring every child’s dignity, privacy and safety are respected.
